(Lexy, that title was for you)
I can has iPhone? No.
Mike, in case you were wondering where I was this morning (I don't have your cell # saved for some reason, only home #), I got up at 4AM this morning and hopped online before I was going to get ready to go, and read on macrumors.com that good ole' AT&Taint aren't allowing current customers to get the iPhone today unless they qualify for the standard upgrade pricing.
Since I will have to pay the early upgrade price, I'm pretty for sure they don't want my business today. I'm sitting here right now (it's 5:30) trying to get confirmation of this, but several people have all said the same thing.
Thanks AT&T! It's not like I've been a customer for over 6 years and paid you thousands of dollars or anything. You go get those new customers. Go get 'em!
Update:
So, it turns out, you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet. While it turns out a lot of AT&T's were treating existing customers like cock monsters this morning, just as many were playing fair including the one here in Jefferson City. Unfortunately, they sold out of iPhone within an hour, as did most stores from what I hear. Talk about being unprepared (Or was the iPhone a bigger hit than anticipated?) Anyway, I signed up for the lame-ass direct fulfillment, which means one will be shipped to the AT&T store for me to pick up within a few days, and I even had to pay shipping. Balls, that sucks. At least I'm guaranteed one though.

I am kinda starting to hate the iphone, a little. It's been made worse by the fact that I actually love my little go-phone and it was only 15 bucks. Maybe if I were on the road more these days I would appreciate all the functionality. To me, it just seems like a lot of hype for something that's pretty cool, but sure gives apple and att license to do more screwing of consumers than they already do. Maybe I'm being too negative here, I dunno. For all those that did get the iphones this morning, I wish you the best experience in the world.
Thanks for the title, the two g's really set it off. :)
Yeah sorry, I didn't have your phone # either. Mary had it in her phone. But I didn't that that phone. That blows. The guy in front of me, and guy three people back both were not eligable for upgrades. And they got theirs. I really wish I had your number. But that problem is solved now. You will get it. I heard a rumor that the stores are supposed to receive daily shipments. But I am not sure how true that is.
Even if you had gotten your phone you wouldn't have been able to use until late this afternoon. As the Itunes servers tanked under the pressure. Its still not right. Phones are getting activated, but you still cant download anything from the apps store. And a lot of people are having trouble getting their voice mail setup including me.
But I do have to say I have spent the better part of the day once activated playing and exploring, and I LOVE IT. I just hope I can teach myself to remember to use all these functions. And the GPS is possibly the coolest thing EVER!
Ummm I really need to get Matise over there. Its still early yet tonight. So if you get this and want to try tonight call me and we can try tonight. Or try again for Saturday.
And ummm Tony. Can I ask you to get me a new power brick for our laptops? Molly ate another one....I can get you money for it next time we see you.
Thats a bummer. You would think that Apple would want to get the phone, into the employees hands ASAP as THEY are the ones SELLING the product. But then again, so far its been pretty much selling itself. But still.
At the AT&T store the Managers and a couple of employees already had theirs. They were walking through the line showing them before the store opened. I asked them if they were store displays, and they all said no they were their personal phones. They didn't have any workable displays.
I just hope the voice mail issue gets solved today. I would really like to set that up.
Now I just have to figure out how to make my own ringtones. I dont feel like spending money on them.
